There were nine of us girls visiting NYC to celebrate our 40th birthday. When I first suggested renting apartment-style B&B accommodations the girls were a little apprehensive but I convinced them it was the way to go. Upon arrival and inspection of each others suites everyone was more than happy and the repeated comment was that the rooms were even better than the pictures.. I was the one in charge of booking the accommodation and pleasing nine women can be a bit of a challenge, but more than once that trip I was toasted for what a great job I’d done - the perfect atmosphere, great service and facilities, and a convenient location that gave us easy access to everything. I was the one that received the praise from our group but all the credit goes to Jeff and Vinessa for the beautiful home away from home they provided us with. I was simply lucky enough to find Ivy Terrace B&B on the internet.
If you want roomy elevators, views of the skyline and room service Ivy Terrace is not for you but if you want to get a sense of what living in Manhattan is like you won’t be disappointed !

I have stayed in a couple of different places in New York City (from the high to the low end) Ivy Terrace was the best! The spacious room and the very well equipped kitchen make the stay so enjoyable and perfect to relax after hours in the busy city.
Count me in as part of your marketing strategy... will tell all my friends about your place.

If hotels aren't your favorite places and you want a sense of living as a New Yorker, be it ever so briefly, this "unhosted B & B" is the answer. I occupied the Ivy Suite, which, while smaller than the other studio apartments in this building in Midtown Manhattan had the supreme advantage of a terrace -- perfect for enjoying breakfast (all ingredients provided, including good coffee and something to make it in) and watching the passing show. Situated in a hugely convenient part of the city, part-residential, part commercial (a mere couple of blocks from Bloomingdales) and close to the 59th Str subway, Ivy Terrace has the supreme advantage of being in a quiet street, so sleep is possible for those who desire it in the 'City that never sleeps'. Decorated in quiet good taste, accommodation includes a large and supremely comfortable bed, sitting area complete with radio and television, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower and aforementioned terrace. Owner Vinessa Milando has thought of everything including guide books, menus from local restaurants and a couple of novels in case you run out of reading matter. New York is my favourite city in the world, and a huge amount of my enjoyment of my most recent trip was coming back to the comfort of Ivy Terrace, where, from the moment I walked in, exhausted after 24 hours in transit, I felt at home.

My daughter and I truly had a wonderful time at the Ivy Terrace! We enjoyed the "City Experience" and really felt like we were home away from home. The location is ideal, and the apartment was very clean. It was great to have breakfast, and coffee in our own little apartment before venturing out into the big city. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
We have done nothing but recommend the Ivy Terrace to all our friends, residents of NY and non residents alike, since our stay. We absolutely had a wonderful stay and will look forward to returning on our next trip to NY. Ivy Terrace afforded us the feeling of being city dwellers and really belonging there.

Good afternoon!
My sisters and I wanted to thank you so much for your hospitality! We loved the Rose Room and enjoyed our lovely terrace many evenings.
The room was everything we hoped for and more and we could not have been in a better location. We were able to walk almost everywhere and it was great to be in a quiet location with so many restaurants and facilities nearby.
It was so nice to be able to have our breakfast and coffee every morning before heading out for the day. The flowers, balloons and birthday cake for my sister were great, thank you so much for having that all there for us.
This was the first time my sisters and I have taken a vacation together and we had a wonderful time. If we ever return to New York we will definitely stay with you again and we will certainly recommend you to anyone we know who is vacationing there.

Everything in the Rose Room was absolutely wonderful! The Ivy Terrace was an amazing getaway for us - it was close enough to all the sights and attractions in Manhattan, but secluded and private enough to feel like it was a home-away-from home in New York City. I would recommend the Ivy Terrace to anyone looking for a comfortable, unique place to stay in a quaint neighborhood on the Upper East Side. We had the good fortune to stay at the Ivy Terrace Bed and Breakfast in October, 2006. Having stayed at a few “questionable” B and B’s in the Big Apple, we were a bit wary despite the great website. Our fears were groundless when we stepped in to the Rose Room, quite spacious and very clean. Santino met us at the door after a call from the airport. On the table were a dozen pink roses and a bowl filled with fresh fruit. With a fully stocked refrigerator, we ate breakfast “at home” and enjoyed the City’s restaurants for dinner. Although we could have easily cooked dinner since the kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, and silverware! We wrote notes to Santino a couple of times, like where’s the sugar? What happened to the washcloths? Like magic, upon our return our wishes were granted. The Rose Room has a patio that we were able to share with our friends because the October weather was so fine. Our friends were very happy in the Waverly room directly above us.
The location of the Ivy Terrace was great with several fine restaurants nearby as well as a subway stop. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. We will return to Ivy Terrace and will recommend it to our friends with they visit New York.

My partner and I had the pleasure of inhabiting the Rose Room for two weeks this month. We felt at home immediately upon entering the unit and fell in love with it during our stay. Our time was especially memorable with friends staying next door in the Ivy Suite. We hosted a very memorable birthday celebration on their terrace overlooking E. 58th Street and enjoyed the solitude of the Rose Room's more private outdoor space. Vinessa and her assistant were instantly likeable people. Both very personable, fun and helpful. Every review read prior to our stay was "right on" and absolutely accurate. We travel to NYC at least once a year and after experiencing the property first hand, we'll stay nowhere else. Enjoy!!

We have been
to New York City many times and stayed in many hotels. This was by far the
most comfortable place that we have stayed. Vinessa was a wonderful hostess.
The apartment was large and the kitchen was a wonderful bonus! Would highly
recommend to anyone and will definately stay there in the future.

What a delightful
oasis in the hustle and bustle of NYC! It is perfectly located in a safe
neighborhood but near subway stations and walking distance from Bloomingdales.
This was my husband's parents' first experience in a B&B, and they said
it was "perfect for our trip." I HIGHLY recommend this B&B for a long weekend
in NYC.

We
had a lovely time at this place. Staying there was much better than at an
hotel, in part because it made us feel like native New Yorkers, at least
a little bit. I liked buzzing in visitors who met us there. Vinessa's restaurant
recommendations were great --Bukhara (downstairs) for a classy Indian lunch
and a particularly great dinner at Rosa Mexicano, a block & a half away.
We will recommend this place to our friends, and will certainly stay there
again when we're back in New York.

A breath
of fresh air in Manhattan. A great location, roomy, spacious, lovely apartment
(way more than just a "room"). Great private terrace for outdoor dining
or cocktails, and your own kitchen comes stocked with juices, fresh fruit,
bagels, muffins, eggs, butter, coffee, hot chocolate, and more (including
complimentary liquor for your nightcap!). Maid service is excellent and
Vinessa is a charming and supurb hostess. The Ivy Terrace is probably one of the
best kept secrets and the best deal in New York.

This place
is like your own flat when in the city. Location is excellent to attractions,
dining and cafes. Street noise will not be an issue if the windows are shut
but its location on a main thoroughfare is part of its appeal. We really
enjoyed it.

If you are
looking for for a high class, low cost bed and breakfast in a fantastic
location, then you need to know about the Ivy Terrace. More than the property
however, is the most accomadating host we have ever had the pleasure of
meeting. Vinessa was our host and we were there on our honeymoon. We had
the most incredible time. Vinessa made us feel like we belonged in Manhattan,
but still provided a very romantic and classy suite for us. I'm an experienced
traveler with high expectations and search for the maximum bargain, and
I would recommend Vinessa and Ivy Terrace Suites to anyone. Feel free to

Vinessa,
our host was so willing to do anything to make our stay more comfortable.
Ivy Terrace is on the East side & VERY convenient to about everything. Even
the subway is only a two block walk. Will definately not stay anywhere else
in NYC. Why??

Great location (two blocks from the subway and Bloomingdales), beautiful
studio with a full bath, full kitchen and nice selection of breakfast goodies.
Vinessa was a very helpful host. We were on the third floor, but since we
attended The Chocolate Show we were able to walk it off! Saw both first
floor (one flight) studios and loved them. Wonderful restaurants in this
block, especially Felidia, $$$$ but worth it. We will stay here again. What
a find!!!!

We spent three
nights at Ivy Terrace and were very pleased with the accomodations and location.
A good supply of breakfast food and ample facilities to prepare more if
you choose. Vinessa is a warm hostess, and went out of her way to make us
feel welcome and that our business was appreciated. Vinessa also has an
interest in Martino's restaurant downstairs. We had one dinner there, and
it was excellent! Brian, tending bar and waiting tables at Martino's, was
friendly and helpful. Good luck with your acting career. We would definitely
go back to Ivy Terrace.

It was wonderful--like
having our own apartment in a great area of Manhattan. The apartment was
beautifully furnished and well cared for. The large private terrace was
a luxurious bonus. The host, Vinessa, was very friendly and helpful and
accommadating of our schedule changes. A great pied-a-terre in the city.
